Meet Our Providers
Sarah Heffron, MEd, RD, CSO
I live in Harrison, Ohio, where my husband and I have raised 4 boys to adulthood. When I’m not working you will find me in the woods running or hiking, visiting a National Park or hanging out with my family.
I am a board-certified oncology dietitian and have been practicing nutrition for over 25 years (oncology-specific for over 7 years). Personal interest led me to earn a certification in Integrative and Functional Nutrition as well. I have also been working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for 31 years, with fitness as a non-negotiable part of my life and my practice. I have worked in a long-term care facility, in a program for obese children and adolescents, in an acute hospital setting, in community nutrition programs, ran a nutrition and fitness studio of my own, and more recently, worked in a cancer center.
A personal achievement of mine was running the Boston Marathon in 2010 and 2013 (finishing before the tragic bombing took place, which was a mind-blowing experience in itself), and I have also competed in bodybuilding and figure shows over 20 years ago. I learned firsthand that you CAN make incredible changes to your body and make it perform when you put your mind and a lot of hard work into it.
My personal goal in my current stage of life is to live as long and healthy as I can, hiking and enjoying beautiful places with family and friends. I love talking to people about how they can improve their health. What we put into our body is how we can start to make the move toward health.
It’s a choice. Are we going to cause inflammation or prevent it from happening? That’s the choice we make with what we eat and drink. It really is that simple of a decision. The tricky part is knowing what the right foods and drinks are for YOUR body. That’s where I can help you.
We are all made uniquely by God and, therefore, may need a unique food plan or exercise plan. I want to help you create the best environment in your body, setting you up for the best quality of life possible. Out food and lifestyle choices are all ways that we can heal our body naturally. It’s your decision to want that for yourself. You are worth the investment to learn and work at getting to that point where you feel better, you move better, and you are living a better life.
